Hello,

I am trying to troubleshoot a coupon issue. I have 3 customer groups:

Default
Preferred
Wholesale

I have made 2 coupons

5off - Which gives 5% off to Preferred customers.
15off - Which is set to give 15% off to Default customers.

Even though I have the customer group set to Default, Preferred and Wholesale customers can used the 15off coupon.

What I'm trying to accomplish here is offer new customers a discount. It seems to me that all users are technically part of the Default group, even when set otherwise. Is this true and if so, can it be fixed?

Thank you.

That is correct. The default coupon total module does not query customers by their groups but simply by any groups that may involve a coupon by identifying the customer's ID; whether it's a new or a previous customer that is still active.

If you want to use order totals strictly based on customer groups, you can try my contribution: http://forum.opencart.com/viewtopic.php?f=123&t=152887
