Hello all,

I am new to Opencart and ecommerce but not to business. A little background on what I've got. I have a 6 year old retail store (we do archery and hunting supplies) which has grown leaps and bounds but we have been trying to get into the online business as well. We bought what we were promised was a turn key archery retail site from a person we know that turned out to be nothing more than some coding and an address. We were also promised tech support through a person that worked for said person that had the original site. So we got with them, had it setup as Opencart but after a few months of going back and forth, very little was done other than having products listed on a site. After that I was on my own. Now I have a opencart store that has issues. The main one is payment is not enabled, nor is shipping, the template sucks and is hard to navigate, our SEO keywords aren't helping on searches as well as on google we can't get to our website through any search other than the exact name of our store. I am a noob at this, I know you guys will grill me over should have searched and all that which I am doing but I wanted to go ahead and get this out there to get on a decent track.

Thanks!
Dalton V.

For everything you need done, I would suggest you hire a developer to get everything set up and teach you how to use the system.

Running Opencart v3.0.3.9 with multi-stores and the default template from https://www.labeshops.com which has links to all my stores.

So what is your question? Agree with above.. maybe you need to hire a dev.
Btw. Getting a good google rank takes time and effort. You wont get any decent placement for 6 month and you need to have content on your site.
Ask yourself why your site should be rankt above the current top sites on your keywords

You may not want to hear this - but I think you're better off starting over from scratch. The amount of work put into your site makes me think he only charged you 200$.

IMHO - If you want a really good website and someone who can speak with you to figure out what your website really needs to be successful, you should be looking around 7 - 10k. You don't need an ad agency or creative agency (which would likely charge you more), any experienced designer / developer will charge a reasonable amount.

After doing a quick search, here are three companies in your area:

https://www.matmon.com/
http://www.aristotle.net/

Alternatively, there are a lot of companies through the opencart forum that can help you. I can't guesstimate how much they would charge since it greatly differs based on their origin - but I would recommend looking at their portfolio and success stories (if they have them).

Finally, if you're really not interested in that kind of investment I would HIGHLY recommend you look into Shopify.

https://www.shopify.ca/

It is a DIY website builder that you could set up relatively easy (it will cost a small monthly fee) and you can spend your time focusing on more important things such as marketing.

You're not the first person to feel burned with their website and won't be the last. Websites are time-consuming and expensive if they're done correctly. You just need to ask yourself "Is this price too good to be true?"

Finally, if you have more questions you can PM me here or contact me via corey (at) wishmedia.ca
