having some issues with the current host and the issues been persisting for the the last few months, looking for reliable web host for under $15/month.

which are some reliable web hosting? (I know default recommendation is arvixe)

is there benefit for going with cloud hosting then the regular hosting?
one-click installation of the OC would be a plus.

for about 15 Buck per Month, you'll get a SWISS Based Top Class Environment, as I have it, running 40+ Sites, and about 10 different OC test Shops, without ever failing in any part, from one of the largest Swiss Hosters.

Well, I think you should alse be driven by your location. Arvixe Business Class hosting, for 22USD/month could be a good choice. Arvixe has several Opencart experts cooperating with them (I'm one of them, following the forum and giving advices or support in case of need).

Don''t use arvixe because arvixe is member EIG. Try search how quality hosting member of EIG. You will see many bad review. Hostgator is example member of EIG which have bad review.

For vps hosting (managed), i can give you recommend to use knownhost.com. wiredtree.com, and futurehosting.com.

We'd be happy to have you try out one of our packages at Arvixe. Our BusinessClass would be a great choice as Madimar suggested though you could also try our regular hosting packages if $15/month is as high as you can go.

In any case, I'd be happy to throw in a nice discount so you can try us out for $1 for your first month. This would apply to both our PersonalClass and BusinessClass packages though would exclude the free domain name.

An alternative option would be a 30% lifetime discount which would include the free domain (applies to both Personal and BusinessClass packages). With the 30% discount, our PersonalClass package would cost $4.90 per month with a free domain and our BusinessClass would cost $21 with a free domain.

I am currently with Arvixe which I am trying to move out of their hosting due to constant downtime with the hosting.

Interesting to know about EIG, you are correct, since the acquisition of Arvixe by EIG on Oct-2014, the site been acting up and constantly, many downtime and always trouble.. I get daily email form the SiteUptime monitor that my site is down.

I contacted Arvixe many time and they told me that it will be taken care of, but unfortunately the site down is persistent problem, I am sure that I have lost many sales due to to the unreliable hosting.

Sorry to hear about the issues you've been experiencing. Can you please provide me with a ticket ID so I can look into the issues you've been experiencing and get to the bottom of it?

I agree that you should never use any EIG company or godaddy.
I deal with several hosting companies and would recommend bigscoots.com, crocweb or knownhost.

I have used them all and when there is an issue its solved within a few minutes and that is why I use them. Some companies take days to solve and issue or go back and forth with many ticket responses when they don't even understand what the issue is. They are all low cost and within your budget but its the support & response time that I look for.

I have been using siteground growbig hosting for last 2 years for a site with ~4000 products. The support and customer service has been excellent so far. They have live help with knowledgeable staff.

That's promising enough. I can second that. I talked to one of their sales for a pre sales conversation. So far, my questions were answered clearly.

I'd suggest wx hosting. I've been with them for a few months and very happy with the speed and service

yep have arvixe hosting, have hosting for $21/month business hosting and today my site went down at 8am EST and still down at 4pm EST. After 8 years of hosting with arvixe have to say its about time i find a better hosting.

Hawkhost, stablehost, mddhosting, veerotech have semi dedicated hosting (shared hosting with more resource) with price $16-25.

I have also been using WX-Hosting for more than a year, the customer service is very prompt and they are very reliable!

I once had trouble installing a SSL certificate from another provider. Jeff Hunter helped me, but the problem was from the other provider, so he issued me the same SSL certificare for free, because I was due to launch the shop in two days.
Also, their servers are optimised for opencart.

The biggest downtime my website suffered was about 20 minutes, while some servers were upgraded.
