paypal standard order status id keeps 0

Hello,
I found a problem with the paypal standard payment module.
IF I order the order gets inserted into the dbase with order status id '0'
then I pay at paypal --> return to the store and succes message is shown but! the order status id keeps 0
hence you cannot see the order in the order list.
Search this forum but have not find anything about it yet.
** I do see it in the Recent Activities box
