Hi Guys ,

Im new to openCart so pleases forgive me if I ask any dumb questions...
Im Setting up an online store (OzSurvivalGear.com.au) and i have a shipping question.

1.Currently I'm still setting up the store so I'm only using the local zone , Australia post extension built in OC.
I noticed tho that the embedded Auspost module does not have many options at all , Only Standard and express.
and the prices for standard say $7.95 for under 500grams doesn't cover my expenses for satchel and signature and insurance. I dont see any options to add these extra costs in the module.

2. Even though I'm currently going to setup for local, I do want to offer international postage once setup to certain countries. But I dont see that international options in the embedded Auspost module ?
I have found a way around this using weight based shipping module , where i would first have to research the costs to a certain country and set the costs up in weight based module (is this the only way ?)

I did search for Auspost extensions on the OC site and did see an Auspost calculator module
http://www.opencart.com/index.php?route ... search=AUS
Will this module answer all my concerns ? is it compatible with the latest version of OC 2.0.3.1 that i have , as it seems atm to only cover up to ver 2.0.2.0

Any help will be appreciated

OSG.

Unless you can get the commercial AusPost extension working, you'll need to set up your own rates for international charges. If you can do this just by weight brackets, you can use the built-in Weight Based Shipping like you describe.

Otherwise, if you need other criteria (like total, volume, quantity, postcode, etc.) I know I have some people using my Formula-Based Shipping extension for AusPost rates. You could also set up your standard AusPost rates as well, and then set up ones for insurance and other additional charges.

Or, if you wanted to set up your insurance as an optional charge selectable by the customer, I have an Optional Fee/Discount extension for that.

Feel free to take a look at the screenshots and demo site, and if you're interested let me know at www.getclearthinking.com/contact if you have any further questions.
