Hey all,
I am having to do a website restore due to a problem with the website.
However looks like i only have re-seller powers and cannot access the WHM.
I uploaded the backup back into my file manager first then realized i needed WHM to restore that backup.
I have gone and used cpanels back up feature and am re-uploading the file.
My question is:
Does it usually just say connecting with the loading icon? I have a blank screen with connecting on the tab. No upload bar or anything.
Is it uploading? Ive got 3 people waiting to do work on my website and my host are sh*t and dont work weekends.

What kind of backup do you have? You can only restore a partial backup (home dir, db,etc) as user/reseller.
If you have a full account backup you need root access.
You can also manually upload the backed up public_html folder using ftp and restore the db with phpmyadmin.

Thanks!
I used Cpanel backup wizard. I think it was a full backup. As the backup file is 200mb smaller than my used data. So assuming for compression it is a full.
So if i dont have access to WHM i can restore using phpmyadmin?
What is the missing files for the website to work are all from the public_html. Can i just upload that folder from the database?

Please be careful handling the db and overwriting files. If you're unsure, PM me.
phpmyadmin is a database interface, you can use this to restore your db. Find your db, empty it and import the SQL file
inside your full backup. It should be obvious which one it is based on the name.
You can use 7ZIP to extract the tar.gz and after the tar inside.
Inside the HOME dir is your public_html which holds your actual website folders. Upload this via FTP overwriting the current.
You should probably put an index.html with a text like "performing maintenance, go away!
" in your root preventing people to use your site while you transfer.

Thanks!
If you added products to the shop before the backup, they will be lost when you do a restore!

Products and cats were added first. I then backed up my website using the backup wizard Cpanel every week.
If i do a restore I will lose them?
I have another website that has Cpanel and was wanting to move all my products & cats over to that new host so i can use a new theme.
My current host with website is now working. Products and everything are still there but I dont know how to migrate some of the data over.
