Question of two criteria search

Sorry if this question is very basic, I am just starting with OpenCart.

I have 10's of product categories like below(examples):
Large containers
Utensils
Cooking vessels

Also, I have additional product type(only one type is applicable for each product):
Wooden
Iron
Alloy
Plastic

I wanted to show search option where user can search anything on categories along with a filter whether materials has to be Wooden/Iron/Plastic/Alloy. Unable to understand how to do that?
Is this feature supported out of the box or is there some 3rd party solutions?
