Use OpenCart as Showcase for Multiple Vendors - possible ?

i'd like to allow multiple businesses to post their items
the site itself would not accept sales
rather, i would charge x per month for each vendor to display their products, and then site visitors would contact the vendors by clicking a link or phoning, etc
i know of directory scripts, but the difference would be that i want to allow the businesses that list on my site to display their products, maybe upwards of a hundred or more products per vendor in various categories, rather than just listing their business and a few pics
i've seen the multi-merch oc extension but i believe that still commits the site to accepting orders
i just want to charge merchants x per month to list on my site but display all their stuff in the categories
is this possible? so far i haven't found quite the module or extension that i think i need
