I am getting the USPS error about authorization. There is no place to put in a password. It asks for a user name, but no where for a password. I have an account with USPS, but I cannot figure this out. There is one other post about this and no one ever responded or answered it. I do not use UPS.

I am a brand new user.

Anyone???

Would really like to get this resolved. Opencart seems like a great cart so far, I have most of what I need except this part ready to go. I cant let everyone have free shipping or a flat rate shipping for everything.

Help????

So I guess this is just not an issue that is worth looking at? I know other people use USPS and have had this problem.

If someone doesn't respond to a thread the same day you post it, that's no reason to post four more times. Just be patient in the future - forums are not a place for instant support.

As to your USPS issue, you shouldn't have to have a password to get your rates. Have you tried filling out everything the extension asks for and testing the shipping method? If so, what errors or issues are you seeing in your testing?

The vast majority of stores that ship via USPS don't use a USPS account directly. Unless you have an exceptionally high annual volume, you'll likely get better rates through a third party service like Stamps or Endicia. If you continue to have trouble working with USPS directly, consider taking a look at those other services to see if they are a better fit for you.

If you have a log in account with USPS.com and have been shipping that way you may think that your user id for that site is what you enter on the shipping module. Sadly that is not the case. You will need to acquire an "API" user id from USPS and enter that into the module. There is no password required.

Actually, SKULabs, I only posted once a day for the first three days on what appears to be a relatively active forum, and since the only other topic related to mine was NEVER responded to, I was trying to keep it relatively at the top the first few days. I completely understand this is a forum and there is no immediate support. Not my first rodeo......

I also posted in my fist post exactly what my error message was. As far as filling out the info it asks for, it asks for username and zip, that is it. Hence, why I came to these forums.....

And thank you sonny suttles, that was a more informative answer. I will log in over there and get that API info.
