I came from an oscommerce environment and one good contributuion i had was the "Request Review".
Nobody can be bothered to leave a review but often do when promped by an email 10-14 days after purchase once they have had a chance to use the product for a week or so.
The stars and customer feedback helps you sell your products.
I've personally bought from Currys/Comet and they use this sytem.
I wonder how easy it could be to do this. Before I didnt setup a Cron job to do it automatically but ran the file everyday which then told me it had sent x number of emails.
I'm not php minded but wondered if anyone else has any idea's.
Could be as simple as sending an email worded for a review with a link to the product they purchased.
You could select the tick boxes as you would to print invoices and click 'send review email/reminder'
We could just do this 2 weeks after purchase for example if it wasnt all automated.

So, the long winded answer to your question, is yes, I agree it'd be a useful feature to have.
Maybe one of the mods can add this to a wish list?

You could do the psuedo cron by calling a check whenever the admin site is loaded. It can check if it has been 10 days since the order was placed and send out any emails. Obviously if you don't check your admin daily then it will not fire until it gets checked but its easier than working with cron

You'll need to move away from the tabbed design.
In any case, the tabbed template makes no sense at all - it hides photos, related products and reviews behind tabs. While to programmers it may seem incredible that anyone would complain about that, we know from experience and from usability studies that
1. People are more likely to see items by scrolling down than by clicking on tabs
2. People who see more photos and reviews are more likely to buy.
