Need advice on category descriptions

Hi
I am trying to set category descriptions in my store but for some reason they won't display? I have tried on categories with and without products in them but the result is the same. I am using a theme called simplegreat and when I try the demo site there are some category description in it so I sort of ruled out the theme as a source for this problem.

Opencart version: 1.5.6.1
The category "MC SKYDDSDELAR" has some text in the category description but it's not displayed.
I am in need of some help to track down this issue but I am unsure where to start. A little advice would help me big time!
