I have made a duplicate of the HTML Content module, which now are disabled. In the enabled copy I have filled out the fields and saved.

I would then expect the module to shop up somewhere at the front page, but it doesn't. Why?

I'm a newbee with OpenCart and I'm a little confused about managing the overall layout. Shouldn't I - at least - be able to activate/deactive elements/modules to be displayed or not and ultimately: Decide how these elements are arranged at the front page? Do I really need to create a new template from scratch?

OpenCart 2.0.2.0 with standard template.

After editing and enabling your module, go to "System->Design->Layouts" (or follow the link in the blue box at the top of the modules list page) and edit the layout for the page you want the module to appear on. Add the module, choose its position and sort order and save. The module should now appear on that page on your front-end.
