Template layout not centered

Hi all,

I'm new to Opencart and cannot seem to solve this one myself.

I'm trying to change the default template to a third party one, however a certain part is not
centered when the template is applied, at least not from the 'HP banner' downwards.
(screenshot added).

This is the themplate I'm trying to apply:

I did follow the provided instructions.

What did I do wrong
Any help is greatly appreciated!

Still stuck, anyone got a clue how to go from pic 1 (my webshop layout) to pic 2 (pic from theme author)?

It has to be really simple, but I can't wrap my head around it...
