UPS Shipping Module

Hi All,

We ship packages of various dimensions and weights and tend to use UPS almost exclusively. A single order can consist of multiple products each with separate dimensions and weight. The UPS shipping module in OpenCart forces us to declare a "Global" dimension which is apparently used in the calculation of every shipment regardless of the actual dimensions declared on the product record.

I have scoured both the free and commercial extensions available for OpenCart and have been unsuccessful locating an extension that provides this feature.

Does anyone know of a shipping module/extension that is capable of retrieving the dimensions and weight from the product record and passing this to the UPS API? Of course this would need to be done for each product in the shopping cart individually and summed to a total as each product will have differing dimensions and weights.

I believe Qphoria's UPS Deluxe extension does this, but you'd have to double-check with him to be sure.

I discovered UPS Deluxe well after I posted here and did purchase it. Testing now and it seems capable of meeting my needs.

Not certain why it didn't show on the OpenCart extensions page when I searched for UPS.

I am setting up an open cart 2 site and am looking for a UPS shipping extension that will allow specific dimensions for each product and work with UPS API using the new dimensional weight.

Also, I have another question. My client wants the API to quote retail UPS rates to the customer in opencart, not the client's negotiated rates. Is that possible? Actual shipping is handled independent of the opencart site.

UPS Deluxe appears to meet our expectations and our current requirements.

I'm not at all certain about your second question. Perhaps an Email to the author would be appropriate to have that question answered properly.

This module allows the ability to consider individual packages for shipping.

However, is there a module that will allow me to select the TYPE of packing for each product? UPS offers letters, my packaging, and etc. I do not have the ability to select package type, only to enter the dimensions.

Some products are shipped in an envelope which the shipping costs are considerably less.
