Safe to upgrade yet?

I am just wondering is it safe to move from 1.5.5.1 to 2.0.1.1 yet?

Or should I wait.... if so what sort of time scale does everyone recommend or version?

My question for you would be how much customization does your current 1.5.5.1 site have? If it has any, you should be setting up a test environment to see what capabilities are included in 2.0 and start updating your test site to align with your current capabilities.

Not knowing all the custom modules that you are using makes it hard to answer this question, but there's not reason why 2.0 can't be running a production site today.

Please note that at the moment it's not safe to upgrade!
In my opinion v2.0.1.1 is still a beta release as it has a ton of bugs.

So if you plan on having (or already have) a professional long term store, with a lot of stuff going on in the front end and especially in the back end, you'd better wait for v2.0.1.2, as it fixes more than 50 issues (as seen here).

Now we can only hope Daniel releases the next version soon...
