I have looked through the extensions but I didn't see one that would do what I need, although I'm sure I may have overlooked some that actually do.

We sell our bottles in 1, 2, 3, and 6 packs.

We ship our items for a flat rate fee of $8 (whether it is 1,2 3, or 6 bottles) for orders shipped within the US

We offer an Overnight option of $35 (still flat rate) for orders shipped within the US

Then we offer a different option for Canada and Mexico orders for $30 (Still flat rate)

And finally we offer a price for all other countries of $40 (still flat rate)

But my concern is that the extension/module will either automatically apply the shipping for the zone that the items are shipping to or check that the customer has chosen the correct option for their shipping address. It could even limit their shipping options to reflect the zone they are having their items shipped to.

We have people that order internationally and sometimes click the "Inside US Shipping" option for $8 and I am trying to get rid of that issue.

Any competent shipping extension should have the ability to set rates by geo zone. If you're just using flat rates, you can even use the built-in Weight Based Shipping for this. You just create duplicate geo zones for your different shipping options, and associate them with the country/zones that they are eligible for.

When the customer fills in their shipping address during checkout, it will then only show the relevant shipping options. For an "all other countries" option, you'd need to set up a geo zone that includes *all* the countries you ship to, minus the ones you already have rates for (US, Canada, and Mexico).

If you want something a little easier to set up, you could take a look at my Multi Flat Rate Shipping extension. It can easily set flat rates for different geo zones, so you can set two options for the US geo zone:

• Standard Shipping: $8.00
• Overnight Shipping: $35.00

one for the Canada/Mexico geo zone:

• Standard Shipping: $30.00

and one for the "Everywhere Else" zone in the extension:

• Standard Shipping: $40.00

Thank you for the response.

I have been playing with your demo and I have a question.

How do I add a country to the drop down box. What is that process like?

I see right now it has "Everywhere Else", "USA", "United Kingdom", and "Australia"

Geo Zones are store wide, and can be created in System > Localisation > Geo Zones. They are then available for use in shipping extensions, tax rates, your default store location dropdowns, etc.

Okay.

So I just checked and I have 2 Geo Zones created right now. One for Florida and one for United States. I went to System>Localisation>Countries and I have a full list of all the countries.

Do I have to manually re-create that list in the GeoZones section, one by one?

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I have been trying to figure out the GeoZone thing and the doc.opencart.com link in the Help link doesn't seem to work.

Try reading up on geo zones here:

http://forum.opencart.com/viewtopic.php?t=7099

Geo Zones are associated with a list of countries and their attached zones. You can set "All Zones" for a country, or you can set individual zones for each country you list.
