Hello
I am hoping someone here can tell me how to properly install a theme to work with Opencart multi store option.
I bought a theme that is giving me issues but the theme seller basically insisting I give them ftp access and admin access before they can resolve the issue by doing the install for me.
1. the theme requires to overwrite - admin - catalog - image folders
2. but I am using opencart multi store option, hence I need to have a standalone theme that I can call upon for the desired store
3. I went ahead and copied over the theme folder only to opencart catalog/view/theme folder.
4. In the admin panel I selected the right theme for the site
Now when I launch the site I still get the default template with the following notices:
Notice: Undefined variable: column_left in /public_html/mydomain.com/catalog/view/theme/OPC0xxxxx/template/common/header.tpl on line 62
Notice: Undefined variable: column_left in /public_html/mydomain.com/catalog/view/theme/OPC0xxxxx/template/common/header.tpl on line 64
Notice: Undefined variable: column_right in /public_html/mydomain.com/catalog/view/theme/OPC0xxxxx/template/common/header.tpl on line 64
Notice: Undefined variable: footerright in /public_html/mydomain.com/catalog/view/theme/OPC0xxxxx/template/common/footer.tpl on line 40
Notice: Undefined variable: footerbottom in /public_html/mydomain.com/catalog/view/theme/OPC0xxxxx/template/common/footer.tpl on line 46
I appreciate your time regardless if you are able to assist or not.
Thank you.

Installing a theme shouldn't overwrite any folders. The theme may contain an image that is placed in the admin image folder to display in the store settings template selection area and/or it might contain images that are placed in the image folder on the front-end, although, on the front-end, the theme should have its images in its own image folder.
The image folders in the package that you downloaded should "merge" with the existing structure (not overwrite) when uploading to your server.

Thank you for the reply. Here is some info from the first step of the installation documentation provided with the theme, unless I am misunderstanding what it wants me to do, I interpreted that as meaning once I ftp it over to the opencart root it will replace the existence folders:
"Copy the directories from “Opencart Files” (provided in to ZIP file) to your opencart root. Copy those directories at your opencart root respectively,
e.g Your copy path will be
”admin” (Overwrite this folder)
”catalog” (Overwrite this folder)
”image” (Overwrite this folder) ...
Now we have to set our Template from Admin panel
Under Admin Panel > System > Settings > Store > Template
Select “OPC070128” into Templates field.
And Click on “Save” button at top right corner."
If the theme indeed needs to replace the existing folders will vqmod help in this situation?
Again thanks for your time.

No. This won't "overwrite" the folders, it will "merge" the contents into those folders.sapita wrote:Thank you for the reply.
