Hello guys.

I am working on my shop and i only offer downloadable products.
I want that mycustomers can download their purchased products maximum 10x times.

I already checked Google and i found this page:
http://www.webhostinghub.com/help/learn ... e-products
Set the Total Downloads Allowed by entering the number of times that you will allow the file to be downloaded per order. Note that multiple orders increase the number of times that the file can be downloaded cumulatively. For example: If the Total Downloads Allowed per order is 2, then 2 orders will allow the customer to download the product a total of 4 times.
Well, this little guide was for OpenCart 1.5, but i can not find this feature in the latest version.
This function still exist or it has been removed?

Thanks for your support.

Thank you for your answer. I am wondering if it will come back in the next updates, because i think it is a pretty important feauture when you sell downloadable products only.

Reading this post, it came to me another question... We know that the download limit is removed, but is there a way to know that the customer already downloaded the product? Because with OC 1.4 you did know that just by looking at the number of times the item was downloaded... But this version is not anymore on 2.0

Any thoughts?

Any news ?
1 year later, we are on 2018 and using 1.5.6 seems to be the best idea for those who sell downloadable products ....

OpenCart isn't the best choice for selling digital products, it's fine tuned mostly for physical goods. This is why I developed my own selling system for selling files, which I'm currently turning into the whole new product. It's even called FileCart (working title) and has all possible restrictions for buyng and downloading stuff: licensing period, number of downloads, group restrictions, you name it.

Yet if you want to implement the same in OpenCart, it's possible, but will require custom coding. It needs to allow you to set number of downloads, track downloads for each customer and check them on each download attempt. It's not that hard to implement, when you know, how to do it. Maybe there's an extension for that already. Have you searched Marketplace?
