Page and Menu Like OC.com

I am trying to figure out how to make a web site just like opencart.com with more information then cart. Like the top menu that has mostly links to information pages and 1 link to the store with the same filter as on the Extensions page. Can I do this with the new OC 2.0.1.1?
The biggest part I need to figure out is how to get a menu just like the "Features" on the top menu and also the menu on the right on this page: http://www.opencart.com/index.php?route=feature/feature
Looking to do the same as this section. Can this be done with the default OC template or do I need to make some big custom changes to the header.tpl file.
Any help pointing me in the right direction would be great.
