Dropdown Menu Boxes

Just a quick question, is there anyway to predefine a dropdown menu via a url
is if you have a dropdown box with the following options in it
red
green
blue
black
yellow.
is it possible to specify one of these automatically via a url
/index.php?route=product/product&path=64_72&product_id=59&option=red
