I know it is not the same... but the great Boyan has worked on the great free Sphinx integration here:

As far as I know, he is evaluating (or maybe working) also on ElasticSearch. You could try to contact him.

Cool thanks I was also thinking on implementing a module for faceted search and free text search in SOLR or ElasticSearch I will talk to him.

We are working on a solution for a huge store with over 4 mil products but we are behind schedule. Maybe in 1 month we can have it ready. I wonder if SOLR was not a better choice.

It depends on what level of integration you need between opencart and elasticsearch. The most simplest form of integration would be to make elasticsearch search the opencart mysql database (table) directly and output the results.
