Special.tpl Error

Hello, can anyone kindly help?

When I click on Special Offers in my footer, I get the attached picture as an error.

But When I go to the special.tpl file and go to line 105, I can't make sense of what is wrong...it never used to be an issue before so definitely I messed it up somehow.


Can anyone help?

Thanks for this, is it as simple as removing and adding the codes shown in your github link?

Or should I wait for oc2.1 to be released.

I was hoping to have my shop live by start of december so kind of panicking

Although it has been mentioned that the next release will be soon, there's no mention of an exact date.

At the moment github seems to be for bug fixes (no new or partial development) so I would say it is safe to grab all files from there and upload.

Backup old site first

As there are no config files, you should be ok to upload all files etc to overwrite existing files

I check github regularly for any new changes and apply them after checking they are just fixes

You have to be careful now downloading from github as Daniel has made a big change to a lot of files last night and also a database change which could make matters worse if yuo simply replace a file or two

Thanks for the information. I really wish there was more consistency in the planning and rollout of this version.

OpenCart2.0 has taught me that to do this kind of stuff a business should pay. There is no "save the money and learn for yourself" feature here. I feel blind working in OC2.0 and besides the forums there are no other resources to help walk through it. This Daniel guy does not help.

3 months of working with OC2.0 without applying it live.

OC 2.0 was a complete hash to be honest.

Github is the development platform and needs to be treated very carefully.

Although bugfixes are made there, future development of unfinished features and as has happened last night a complete re-coing of the mosule system, also can happen.

I follow the changes on github and before the module changes last night, it was mainly bugfixes that were being updaed in the code and so it was pretty safe to just download and apply those files to current 2.0 sites

However, after last nights changes to the module system, it's now a case of be very careful with the github code for updating 2.0 files as it may break the module you are having problems with completely.

I would now advise waiting for the next release if you are unsure about applying fixes from github code, or continue to post on the forum and you may get help with that particular fix.

Thanks for your input, if only we knew when the next version would be out.

did I mess up my controller files by replacing the master files from github? I downloaded the file a few days ago but copied them over this morning and now noticed this.

The homepge still shows the error for featured.php but i will probably remove that module once I get access to it.

Any ideas? Do I need to do a clean install???

In the end I started afresh with the latest download from gitHub

I still have the other installation though, so will try to see if i can fix it to offer up a suggestion for you.

I was avoiding a fresh install today as another day gone by and was hoping they would release the stable version so I could get working on the proper build.

I got this to stop displaying a blank page by uploading the following from the default OC2.0 download

admin/model/setting/extension.php
admin/controller/extension/module.php
admin/view/template/extension/module.tpl

Top of page looks a bit weird, but you can access and edit modules now

admin/model/setting/extension.php does not exist in mast file or in oc2.0 file for me to replace

Should I just do a clean install? It doesn't seem worth the wait for next oc version
