Australia Post is migrating all of its digital applications to a new web services provider.

The Australia Post website will be migrated, along with other digital tools including our public Application Programming Interface (API), during a planned outage from 10pm AEST on Friday 17 October 2014 until midnight AEST Saturday 18 October 2014.

Are you accessing Australia Post's tools for your online sales? You may need to make some technical changes.

>From 18 October, the range of IP addresses used by Australia Post for access to our web services provider will change and the IP range will no longer be static. All addresses will be dynamically allocated.

Therefore, if you're using any IP based security controls or if you have hard coded IP addresses in your application code, you'll need to move to a DNS based solution. This approach is considered best practice.

Important information for your technical team:

Any necessary changes regarding IP addresses will need to be made by you prior to Friday 17 October 2014.
Australia Post is not changing security certificate providers or the structure of the SSL certificates. Existing public certificates will be valid, therefore you won't need to import a new certificate for SSL communication with Australia Post's API.
Australia Post is not changing any of the credentials of API users as part of this outage. You'll be able to connect to Australia Post's API with your existing credentials.
