Hello

I read: http://www.opencart.com/index.php?route ... &blog_id=1 (Geo zones [For Dummies]) and followed it carefully (I think) but I have not been able to add US States to my customers' drop down Regions/Sates option during checkout.

I currently have all the Canadian provinces showing up in the drop down window under Region/State in Step 2 of my checkout but I cannot get any US states to show up. I do not charge Tax to US customers and the only place I do not have the States entered in Admin Localisation is under "Tax Rates" but that is because there is no tax to charge them. Is this the problem?

Under Shipping I have "Free Shipping" Enabled for All Zones. I only added Arizona to Geo Zone and not every state to see if it worked, it did not.

Thanks
Sergio

Go to System -> Localisation then create or edit a United States geo zone. In the United States geo zone you'll need to add each of the states/territories, Country: United States - Zone: Alabama, Country: United States - Zone: Arizona, and so on.

If you're using an older version of OpenCart you should purge your cache files. There was a bug which kept them from being updated right away. The cache files are located in the /system/cache/ directory and are in the form of cache.*.1234567890.

Thanks for your reply. I upgraded my oc from 1.4.9.1 to 1.5.6.1. in February. I did not have US states in either version in my checkout.

I have added GeoZones By State and as you suggested with Country: United States - Zone: Alabama, Country: United States - Zone: Arizona, and so on. See below . Neither is showing up in my checkout drop down window.

I was wondering about that... Can you clear the cache from the Admin? or is it something a developer does from the FTP?

I looked on Admin and could not see a cache under system..

Thanks
Sergio

Sorry Ryan.... I'm not very technical. Is /system/cache/cache.*.1234567890 something that can be done in the Admin?

If not I will need to ask a programmer to do it.

thanks

You do it by FTP or through the web panel file manager in cPanel/Plesk. The directory is /system/cache/ and the files are named like cache.*.1234567890. Some 1.5x versions have a bug where the geo zone cache wasn't cleared after an update so you'd have to wait an hour or so for it to expire.
