Email TLD

Our domain is a .clothing domain so for example:

http://example.clothing

Opencart doesn't recognise info@example.clothing as our email address and wont allow me to change this is the settings.

I have gotten over this by editing our email address in the database but we are not receiving emails via the contact form

Is there a way to fix this?
