Hello ,

I am looking to utilize Opencart in a solution for a supply company, but am requiring a feature before we can use it.
I've looked, and have been unsuccessful finding so far a discount functionality that will:

a) Allow for a customer specific discount for particular categories.
b) Show this discount by customer (logged in) throughout product pages.

Any direction appreciated!

Thanks!

You could define different customer groups, and add your customers accordingly.

just about the only way I found so far.

Good Luck

Thanks for the response IP!

I suppose I should have mentioned that we've already defined customer groups and grant a discount based on that. What we were looking for is another 'layer' of discount to apply to individual customers on top of their group discount.

I could see this discount in the admin section on the customer page. We could click edit for individual customers, then navigate to a 'Discount' tab. That would look like the typical "insert" dialogue, where one could add (CRUD) a list of what would ultimately be discounted for the customer.
insert>
Category (subsequent sub-category): Discount %: Volume:

There may be something out there in a module, but would be willing to work with someone to get this functionality in OC!

In case anyone's interested in this thread - I was able to solve this with a module called Pricelist Pro. This module is maintained by a helpful, responsive developer.

Setup:
Pricelist allowed me to add Discount Groups (you can think of them as an extra category.) So now, with each discount attached to a product, I was able to then name a Pricelist after each customer and of course, list the respective discount groups (or categories) below them. So, while this wasn't ideal, it's not a pain either and the requirement can be actually satisfied with this.
