It would be great if OPENCART produced a manual or documentation to break down exactly which files affect what feature (something beyond the basics of the online documentation).... don't know how many hours have been spent trying to track down what files might be affecting a specific problem. For example, if having a problem with emails ... then exactly WHICH files should someone be looking into to see where the problem might lie? Instead of posting to forums and hoping....just hoping...someone can steer you in the right direction it would be wonderful if there was documentation or even a book you could purchase that would at least list all the relevant files that are associated with a function, feature, link or specific body of text in order to edit or fix. That way you would at least know what files and where to find to 'zone in' on the problem. The forums are great and the help is usually good but often answers are not forthcoming and you're left with no recourse! Customers can be very demanding when a problem arises and suddenly you're under pressure to look for a needle in a haystack. Are there ANY publications out there that break down all opencart files in detail?

Who would possibly read it? And who would be able to write it, so everybody would understand the meanings?
The OC 'Construction' bases on a 'common' Framework-type Design, if one gets to understand the 'System', one
can handle it. At least as long one gets or already has some PHP/Scripting Knowledge.

You can't? To bad, but you are not the only One, I'm trying since past winter to get used to OC. After about 20 different shop-setup's, I still wonder, how complicated Shop-Programming can be, and how hard it sometimes is, to do some really minor work in one section, one needs to handle 3 to 4 other files as well to make it work...

I will never understand, why it took so much to 'produce' so little, after all, it's just a Shop. It's just about similar to Automobiles, 40 Years ago, anyone could fix 'em, today, Car Mechanics need Computers to even find the smallest Problem, and an hour of work costs 120+ US Bucks, where I live.

OC relies on PRO's, when it comes to PRO-Shops, like Cars rely on Specialists, when it comes to secure Driving. But those Peoples are not OpenSource related, they worked hard to 'get' their knowledge, and they expect to get paid, if they are required to assist. That's the way it works in a capitalistic environment, especially in One, where Software Users all have the same common Goal: TO MAKE MONEY.

OC is free, one can take it or leave it. So far, I have not decided, wich way to go...

Good Luck :D
