A data entry thing

I've several times accidentally clicked another module, say extensions, without first saving changes made in the products module. A popup "You've made changes, do you want to save before leaving" would prevent that.

Yes. Product page is a form. So when you leave a form page, as a part of warning it says, if you have made any changes, please save it before going to another link.
