seo urls not working 1.5.6.4

I have a major problem

My seo urls will not work. I have changed my .htaccess.txt to .htaccess and seo them to yes in stsyem > server but all that happens now is it says page cannot be displayed.

Did you change .htaccess.txt to .htaccess?
Is your installation of ocart in a subdirectory?

Yes I have changed the htaccess. yes the site is in a sub domain

I'm experiencing the same thing that you are right now. Have you ever got it to work?

1. I changed the htaccess.txt to .htaccess
2. Select Yes in the System
3. Named each category in the SEO URL

And, it still doesn't work. I'm still getting the 404 message error.
