[SOLVED]Image Manager - very slow

Hello,

I'm using version 1.5.6.4 of OpenCart and the Image manager is very slow. It doesn't even remember the last folder that had been opened. It takes much time to browse and wait for loading the content, for every single picture. I do upload the image though FTP, but still it takes so much time for simply browsing to reach that picture through the File Manager. I can simply add the picture names in the database, but later other people are going to add products and they don't have the knowledge and the will, to add pictures that way, it is supposed to be simple for them... Every product that I have to enter has approximately per 10-20 images, so it is very much time consuming. Is there a way I could fix this problem?

Thank you, any advice would be highly appreciated.

image manager beeing slow is often caused by large number of images in same folder, giving your swrver a big workload generating thumbs every time its loaded.
consider breaking up your images in folderr, say for each category or sub category a single folder.
it wil make image manager.much faster.

when younwant last folder remebered, you will have to get image manager +
do a search in extensions

There aren't many images in the site at all, I have entered just 10 test products and I have grouped the images in separate folders. It is just loading slow, I've tried installing an older version of OC - no change, I guess it is just like that, but I'm searching for some work around for this.
It is not supposed to be that slow, in my oppinion.. there should be some solution I hope.
Thanks for the reply.

an other reason is very large images.
youre uploaded images should not be bigger than aprox 900 x 900 pix and possibly optimized so they even become much smaller

No other solution than adding images in seperate folders? I did an upgrade from 1.5.5.1 to 1.5.6.4, but it's still very slow. The tree in the image manager is busy loading for 10 minutes. Any other tips?
