Speed up home page loading and search

My site http://bit.ly/sitemine has at least 300K products and 2215 categories. my server has optimized well.. and developer indexed database as well.. other pages in site is working fine.. but home page loading and search takes a lot of time.. please check this http://tools.pingdom.com/fpt/#!/yn0q5/h ... ommon/home

...more than 8'000 Lines of code, 12 CSS Files, plus uncounted amounts of Javascript, 1.8 Megabyte of data loaded, and all this, just to produce one Main Page, excuse me, but, despite of using an exclusive IP, such a setup requires a HighSpeed dedicated Server with lot's of RAM + broadband connection to work in a decent way.

You'll need to decide, what's really important to be 'shown' on your Main Page, as it looks now, it's like a Store Window, just filled up to the last possibly tiny space. I would advise you just to scale down a little, doing such with OC, you just expect to much...

That's pretty irrelevant compared to the 300,000 products and 2215 categories.

Are you already using an extension like Jeff Hunter's excellent "Increase Page Speed"?

I am aware of this, I was just talking about the Start-Page, beeing filled up like hell, requiring the DB to do so much work to start with...
