Just trying to get some feed back. Would you like to see the way orders are displayed in a vertical tabs system?
You still will be able tpo view the full order in the invoice page.

I think that this is very good idea because
* It is structured logically
* you can edit invoces in many ways it haven't been posible
* It looks very sexi
but i thing if you add this features you should rename version to 1.5.0

Hi Daniel,
I prefer the current method as it doesnt requie additional clicks to get to what is very important information, having it all displayed on one screen allows you to cross ref very quickly rather then having to navigate mutiple section looking for info buried under tabs.
As the previous poster said, if you where to add in edit in place as a feature at some point that would be awesome, but not required for 1.4.x imho
Geoff.

Its hard to make the cvurrent system display all the information and still look good. its also not just displaying information its also allowing people to edit parts of the order. I just think the current system looks messy.

My problem with the tabs (vertical or horizontal) is the time it takes to display.
Dont know from where it comes, but i get nervous waiting for the page to redisplay itself when they are tabs and many heavy elements. I must always wait 5~10 secs.

I kinda like having everything in one page too. I can see how it would be useful if it was part of an order edit scheme though.

I have to say the vertical tabs for product options was an epic fail and this isn't any better IMO. Big waste of space on the side that could be used for viewing more data. I vote no
Seems like less time should be wasted on these little things and more on bigger features.
It's not broke the way it is now.

I like the vertical stacking on options. I don't see why you'd consider them a failure.

I like it the way it is now.
What you could do is something that is called in osCommerce Orders at a Glance and Comments at a Glance.
This will show a balloon when you hover over the order-number with the product ordered.
Hovering over the customer name will show comments made to the order.
Another contribution I've build in is the Additional order info, this will show all order info in a pane on the right hand of the order you've clicked basically what the Order and Comments a at Glance do, see attached image.

I also vote for all the info on one page. I think the way you have it divided now is pretty good, actually.
And I like the vertical product options, as well.

I actually had the "at a glance" almost working back in 1.0.3 I think. I gave up on it due to working on other things. But I agree that was one of the best mods for zencart as well. Very useful to quickly see what products I needed to get together without going to each window separately.

I agree that this kind of change is a waste of time that could be better spent elsewhere, but for my two cents I don't see the value in it. If it's that important to segregate the information, why not have collapsible elements for each section and users can individually expand the ones they want to see? You could also include an "expand all/collapse all" link, and store the user's preferences in the database so they always see it how they want to.
