I'm running OC 1.5.5.1 and I was wondering if there is any way I could disable the Cash on Delivery Payment option that I have (I'm using the GOP Cash on Delivery module) when customers select specific products.
See, we make customized merchandise - stuff with people's names and all on it. It's impossible to stock for obvious reasons. Besides, this merchandise is manufactured at a location from where we can't offer CoD. Though I have put up signs almost everywhere saying CoD is NOT available for custom merch, I still get about 2-3 CoD orders a week. It would be really neat if I could use a plugin that would disable CoD if someone selects a particular product or a product from a particular category. Oh, for those who aren't aware, GOP CoD is a Payment Option, not a shipping option.
A similar strategy for shipping options might be of use for others as well - if you select a product or a product from a particular category, certain shipping options could be disabled - e.g. If someone buys a glass carving or some delicate artifact, certain shipping methods (like Registered Post) could be auto disabled or if someone buys liquids, methods like FedEx / DHL could be disabled.
Is there a module that already does this? If not, can something like this be made?
