Hi,

I am running a online store using Opencart 1.5.6, default theme. Recently, I registered a second domain for another store. Since Opencart supports multi-store, and my host provider gives me unlimited domain add-on, I thought I should give a go. Followed instruction on this thread: http://forum.opencart.com/viewtopic.php?t=27538. After setup, when I type the new domain, I was expecting to see the default Opencart storefront, however, instead of default Opencart storefront, I reached default web site page showing following information:

If you are the web site owner, it is possible you have reached this page because:

The IP address has changed.
There has been a server misconfiguration.
The site may have been moved to a different server.
If you are the owner of this website and were not expecting to see this page, please contact your hosting provider.

What is wrong? I have searched on google, cannot find the problem. Please help.

Are the two stores on 2 different domains? I don't think that works :(

My understanding is multi-store works on one domain with sub-domains or sub-folders http://docs.opencart.com/display/openca ... ulti-store

Wrong, Tac. Multistore works fine with different domains.

See step by step instructions http://forum.opencart.com/viewtopic.php?t=27538 - go back thru and recheck as you must have missed something. I am running 1.5.6.4 with no problems.

You said you registered the domain - did you configure it's dns correctly and wait for it to populate? Did you assign the document root correctly?

Running Opencart v3.0.3.9 with multi-stores and the default template from https://www.labeshops.com which has links to all my stores.

@labeshops thank you, I have wanted to be able to do this but never worked out how. I had read that thread before and thought he was just setting up a sub domain?

So I can have OC on domain.com and run the same store, but with a different theme, on myshop.co.uk?

Yup. Take a look at my signature. Those are my stores running on 30 different domains all from one opencart installation.

So do I, but my websites don't remain individual throughout a customer's shopping experience - customers will revert to my main website, instead of remaining on their original website, when they click on a catalog header.

I have them configured in admin, but I don't think I have the folders set up correctly.

When I go to change an individual website in admin, and click 'save' - I get a 'this page does not exist' front end page turn up instead.

You should have one install of Opencart on your server and then each domain needs to be configured within your hosting control panel. When it's setup properly, it will all work. Be aware that the shopping cart will not share its contents from store to store on the catalog side.

Thank you platypuspuzzles, I have read that thread before and I cannot see how it describes setting up one store on 2 completely different domains. It looks, to me, like instructions for setting up a store in a sub domain or folder.

Perhaps I am being stupid? :)

If by "one store on 2 completely different domains" you mean different domains on the same server then that is what you do. It doesn't work to have a different web server or host.

Yes you do seem to set it up as a sub-domain, but you actually do not. You point the 2nd domain to the 1st domain's folder.

Thank you Mike :)

I have been reading and re-reading the other thread on this topic and, using labeshop's instructions, have got as far as creating the 2nd shop in admin/system/settings of my main installation, which is personalisedemporium.co.uk

In my control panel, which is Plesk, I have set up countryparty.co.uk as an 'add-on' domain. At least I think I have....

The site that was on that domain is now gone and I have the standard Plesk default page rather than anything OC looking.

These are my settings - can anyone see a glaring obvious mistake I am making? Or does it just take time to show up after the changes?

Thank you :)

Not being familiar with Plesk but I do need to ask is that your actual directory path? httpdocs/personalisedemporium.co.uk

So if I FTP to your webhost and go into the httpdocs folder there will be a folder EXACTLY "personalisedemporium.co.uk" ? (of course without the quotes)

Thank you again Cue4cheap and labeshops :)

My directory path was wrong :-[

I have read and reread the Plesk instructions at lease a dozen times now. I have followed them as far as I can but can't get past the putty.exe stage because I am on a Mac. I have posted in that thread :)

DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO MAKE SSL WORK ON MULTI DOMAINS???

I have a UCC SSL from go daddy, and its working on all domains, but I cant get opencart to accept https:// pages for the secondary domains.com without the pages reverting back to my primary domain.
