[Solved] Javascript issues on product detail pages

I've had an issue on several OpenCart sites in the past, whereby JavaScript doesn't work properly when viewing a product page. For example, I have modernizr.js included in my theme's header.tpl file, but for some unknown reason, that script doesn't even appear in the HTML source code of product pages. I also have a mobile menu script (jQuery) which normally opens with a click/tap, but on product pages it doesn't.
Someone who previously fixed the issue on another website commented that there was a file missing from the product pages, but I can't find that myself. I have been performing a file comparison using the full HTML source code from the home page and a product page to compare the difference, but the only difference of relevance is modernizr.js being missing.
I am more than willing to pay to resolve this issue so that I can take care of it myself in future editions.
