Courier Shipping

Hi all,

Currently I have setup Free-Shipping module as everything under £50 comes with free shipping. I would like to be able to add the option of "Courier" with an added price to the total of the basket.

The problem I am having is related to the modules. We will use the best courier that is available to us at the time. So that means no standard rates or tracking number. Is anyone able to recommend a good module that will do what I am looking for?

Example,

You buy an Item for less than £50, but you want it delivered fast, So the only option is Courier. Once Courier is selected, It adds an extra fee. (Same as standard shipping module would)

Can't you just use the Flat Rate shipping method for this? Or if you don't have a flat rate, you'll need to figure out a formula and use something like Formula-Based Shipping.

If you need live rates pulled from a shipping courier, you'll need to find an extension specific to that company.

Thanks for the ideas. As we use 3 or 4 couriers we need a courier option that is unversal, as we do not know which one we will be using until the order is complete. If the flat rate can be renamed to couier , then this would work as all courier choices are the same flat rate.

Is it easy to adjust the name of a shipping option, such as flat rate?

You can edit the language for any shipping method in the /catalog/language/english/shipping/ folder. The Flat Rate method is the flat.php file.
