Hi everyone,

Now that I have my first OC site running, I plugged in the social networking module but have been lusting after making it a bit whizzier.

Is there a way to extract the daily posts from a Live Feed on Facebook (using their API presumably) to publish said posts (or even Twitter feed / tweets) to a module say in a sidebar? If so has anyone attacked it yet as I cannot find a working module for download?

If someone could even point me in the right direction, and I had some time over Easter, i'd be tempted to have a crack at it but have little php experience (still learning) and am unsure where to start.

I assume that there is a feed of some sort (no doubt xml) comes from Facebook via the API, plumb in user account details, desired quantity of information, number / date of posts (eg today-3 days limit) and then plug that into the site via a module, format it, place some sort of parameters in the admin back end to allow changes and voila should have a working FB/Twitter feed?

Or..........

We take the feed from a blog / rss module on OC and then use that to populate facebook updates and perhaps have an annotated url on twitter to notify followers of updates? Perhaps more complicated as you would need to specify:

1. The Twitter message (due to 140 char limit, this would need to be a reduced or changed version of the message)
2. The text of the blog/rss/FB post
3. Images where appropriate (maybe a step to far at this point)
4. Links to the site / post

Thoughts anyone?

And yes I am bored at work - avoiding doing other stuff thanks to a nasty cold!

Thanks in advance!
