Bug (?) - Cart Cleared on Checkout when in a Customer Group

Hi All

Noticed a bug (which I believe it to be) which can be replicated by the following:

Shop setup, customer approved, and in a customer group which has different prices from the default group.

On checkout, and then login, the cart is cleared rather than re-calculated, which is a bit mean on the old user

Thoughts? If there is a script to write to basically re-populate the cart, please let me know.

Just to further this abit - the call goes to (on login in the checkout)
index.php?route=checkout/login/validate

and it returns a redirect:
{"redirect":"http:\/\/www.xxxxxx.com\/index.php?route=checkout\/cart"}

For the life of me, ive not idea how it gets that code from the re-direct, as the validation function in checkout / login returns true or false.....
