Hi all,
I have the following problem, when i log into the admin section of my site, i dont have the drop down menu available to me any more? here is a screen snap shot so you can see what i am referring to! I have checked the file permissions and they all appear to be set at 644, i have also checked to see if there are any missing files and this too seems to be ok? even all the java script files are all there.
Any one got any ideas as to what has happened and how to correct it? i dont have a back up and i dont want to re install as this is a quiet but working site! and i have a few hundred product installed

trying viewing the source code, see if they are there. If not, something might be wrong. Also check your error logs
check admin/view/template/common/header.tpl and also in your admin panel > system > error logs.
Hi MarketInSG,
I have checked the header.tpl and its looks ok, (Checked against a fresh copy)
I have checked the error log and there is a few older errors which i think were from mods that i tried? not sure though.!
would you have any other suggestions before i have to call someone for help.
Kind regards
Majornoob

have a look inside vqmod/vqcache, and check on your admin_view_template_common_header.tpl file and see if anything is modified there.
Hi MarketInSG,
Thank you so much for all your valuable help you have provided me with.
I have managed to find the source of the problem and i have now fixed the problem files, it would seem that some of the addons/extensions on here are not as clean as one may think though i cant say exactly which one infected my site. my admin/view/javascript/custom.js file had been injected with a trojan? i used a script that i modified to include JS extension files to correct this problem and to my surprise it found several of my other JS files had also been infected.
once a complete scan had been done and the offending code removed my site was up and running as it should have with all the admin functionality back in place.
All working like it should now so many thanks to all.
Kind regrds

Hi mikeyzhe,
Can you give me the name of your shop i.e. the full domain name, i will take a look at it and see if its the same problem as i had. If so how good are your computer skills i.e. are you able to understand and alter script files!
Kind Regards

majornoob, check your /download/ directory. See http://forum.opencart.com/viewtopic.php ... 60#p440953 et sequentia, and http://forum.opencart.com/viewtopic.php ... 69#p458962 as to Win. There are others but those cover several basics.
mikeyzhe, ditto.
mikeyzhe, (a) in your bottom image of the three above, dnono admin shows as 1.5.6.0 but now dnono appears different, (b) in your post just above you give a different domain, namely your asukarc.com, whose admin shows 1.5.6.1, and (c) the two seem entirely separate (differing in address, appearance, content). In both instances the categorical menus on the left pane work. The failure of the menu crossbar flyouts to populate at all seems a new problem, but could owe to settings or to a corruption of files in uploading them. Are both domains on the same server?

the pictures that i show earlier was 1.5.6.0 is correct,
and i try to find answers and help, over 2 weeks, but no chance ,
so i saw the new 1.5.6.1 version came out, so i reinstall it again,
but its end up the same problem,

i would reckon you remove these details for login
When you're back remove the sensitive items. (Argh.) Meanwhile, a Moderator might do that for you. Next time, you can send that sort of thing to any of us via PM, rather than putting it in front of the whole world including the several search engines that each trot trough here several times daily.
Too late, you had also left /install/ in place for http and now in http there appears to be a Ground Zero where the store was. Tried ftp to confirm http, user okay, pass not. Been had, apparently (unless you or someone you know went in). Use your fileset and database backups.

Hell's Bells, no wonder.

OC cannot be run on an asp server, period.
There are visible differences, if you want to see snippets of .asp (http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E19396-01/817 ... sgasp.html).
Worse, the server software is unsupported, and as comes as no sudden revelation, "Sun ONE was a brand under which Sun Microsystems used to market server software products." Introduced 2002, superseded 2003, past tense, history, bye bye, poof. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sun_ONE . . . Oracle weighed in in 2010 and no amount of "exalogic elastic cloud" (http://www.oracle.com/us/sun/index.htm) will help. What you're on is not even downloadable (http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/index ... index.html and http://www.oracle.com/us/products/serve ... index.html). And in overall context (http://stackoverflow.com/questions/7323 ... eplacement), "Sun's One Server worked great up until Sun Disappeared. Now looking around the landscape the classic ASP solutions are all aba[n]doned."
Yesterday your OC could not have been on an asp server, it worked. Who on earth put you on an unsupported and superseded software dinosaur that your OC cannot even ride?!
Argh. Change hosts. Get Linux.

(1) All of us appreciate your frustration, but we are also strewn around the globe watching what began with a fairly minor cosmetic glitch that had within a day turned into a completely discombobulated website, which today is back as as installer stalled for lack of a directory.
(2) Next time give out ftp and admin credentials via PM. Fortunately, the ftp log-in you provided (and have not yet removed above) does not work, as for example once again a short while ago:
Response: 530 Login authentication failed
Error: Critical error
Error: Could not connect to server
We were 13:10 into this when you posted unworkable ftp credentials, in turn another 32:20 before you said nobody helped. On the intervening day there was nothing there to help about. Today there is a missing directory.
(3) The two domains both show 216.227.211.44 in Anaheim. Something was different yesterday. Perhaps the .asp software-support itself was turned on, then off.
(4) This morning your /install/index.php is present and functional. When you're done with it, delete /install/.
(5) At the moment, taking that SHORT OF doing anything, it shows a preferred php version (5.3.24), and it is happy EXCEPT FOR these:
/home/caste5/public_html/asukarc.com/image/ Unwritable
/home/caste5/public_html/asukarc.com/image/cache/ Unwritable
/home/caste5/public_html/asukarc.com/image/data/ Unwritable
Apparently you have not uploaded an /image/ tree, leaving it unable to write to the /image/ tree.
You'll need to upload the /image/ tree in order to proceed.
