XML Product Data feed. What are my options?

Hey guys,

I have found a plug in that imports data feeds but it is limited as it doesn't download product images etc. I have over 2000 products that need to be pulled and then refreshed on a regular basis.

I have paid for an importer on Wordpress that integrates with Woocommerce but it is buggy and really frustrating.

Worpress would have to be one of the worst things I have ever tried to work in. I don't need to highlight why I want to go with Opencart as you already know how much better it is.

What are my options for importing this xml feed into opencart?

My thoughts were to try and download the xml feed and then use export/import plugin to upload the feed once it has been moved into the appropriate columns.

If this is a viable Idea how do I download the xml feed. Currently when I go to the feed in my browser it just displays it in the browser. I cant save or download it... Is there software that can pull this down?

Any further info you need from me let me know! I appreciate any help.

Thanks guys,

Warwick

you can have a developer to build a custom import extension for you to import from the website. That will do the trick ;)

Lol,

I wonder who could do such a thing :P

What type of cost would be involved? Would you like to quote it?

you can drop us an email for a quotation. Usually a custom made extension isn't cheap since it's only for use on your store. A typical export / import extension shouldn't be able to meet your needs

Hi. You said you can only see it in the browser? I think you can right click on your page and save it in notepad as a text or in word as xml, and than in Excel as CVS file/. I do not remember the order when I did it, but you will figure it out.

I get how frustrating that can be! For downloading the XML feed, you can actually just save the page from your browser - usually, right-click and “Save As” to save the XML file locally.
