Select an OPTION MANDATORY

Hi guys quick question

I have looked around for a solution but haven't found one yet may be I've missed something please guide to me the right direction if I have...

As I understand in OC 1.5.6 if you have options setup for a product - you can still add to basket without selecting the options. I know individually you can set up for each option to be required. But since migrating from another cart and having over 2000 products, this is a near impossible task to do this individually. Is their a mod or any solution to have 'select an option' as required field to be applied globally to my existing products and for future products to be applied automatically?

Any help would be highly appreciated.
