Newsletter Subscription Double Opt-In/Coupon Generator

I am using a Mod called Newsletter Enhancements http://www.opencart.com/index.php?route ... newsletter

It uses a separate Subscriber table to allow a module placed on the site to collect new subscribers without them needing to create an account. Among other functions to do with sending/tracking Newsletters. All good so far.

However I want to develop a method to encourage visitors to sign up, and what I have decided is to offer a first order discount coupon. There is a Mod already available for this here http://www.opencart.com/index.php?route ... rch=coupon that goes a long way to fulfilling the requirements. However I am struggling to communicate and get them to develop it further for me as I think they are very busy and its getting impossible to get any feedback as to a timescale.

So I am looking for alternative developers who might be able to do this:

1. When a someone subscribes via Newsletter Enhancements the default state in the Marketing List is "unsubscribed"
2. They then get an email for them to confirm subscription with a link that once clicked switches the subscribe on (probably same as current Subscribe link)**
3. They get a second email confirming their subscription, I can then attach a coupon code to this**
4. If they unsubscribe before using the coupon, the coupon gets deactivated

** I am using this Mod http://www.opencart.com/index.php?route ... arch=email that enables me to create HTML templates for all system generated emails. It would require adding in extra triggers for me to make templates for. They have advised me what files need changing and I can give details.

Essentially I want to offer an incentive and confirm double opt-in at the same time. None of the Opencart Newsletter systems cover this. Ideally there needs to be a record that the user opted in, maybe an extra column in the subscriber list showing Yes to Double Opt In.

I am willing to pay, but I need to keep costs sensible. I also need to ensure I get what I paid for so no offers to develop this after payment. If you need references I have other developers I have paid for custom work on here.

Still have not made a final decision on this project as have not had many in touch. If anyone has serious php/sql experience and thinks they can make this work with both Newsletter Enhancements and Order Status Email modules please get in touch.
