If you delete a product you are not asked if you want to delete the linked images. Actually no image linked to a product will be deleted after a product removal. This should not be the case, one should be asked.

Now I use the image manager to search an image, and then I delete it. However if you select a folder that contains the image to be deleted, and you forget (or click wrong) to select an image, the folder will be deleted without any warning.

Opencart does not contain a trash can and/or restore functionality (go back to former state), you have only the database table back-up option. I think this is a serious shortcoming of Opencart. If I had known this on beforehand I probably would have chosen an other open source webshop software.

Also the selection of images is problematic, on at a time. Maybe there is an extension for this last problem. But I think more features should be incorporated in the basic Opencart software!

Users help me to let them design a better image manager, I know more users have the same problem as me!

I agree to an extent, I think it would be great if images could be removed when a product is deleted.

The "trash can" idea is a good idea too, but remember, if you move a product to the trash can, you can't delete the images in case you need to restore the product. Food for thought.

I wouldn't go as far as saying OpenCart is basic, as a matter of fact it is one of the best out there at the moment.

But good suggestions.

Opencart is a software package that is easy to understand and I can't remember when I encountered a bug..so in that sense it's great. With "basic", I mean without extensions....e.g. for catalogus mode, one has to order an extension.
