Two extensions installed and can't be removed

I installed two extensions that didn't work well so I removed them (sort of). They were not vqmod extensions. When I uploaded them they did not overwrite any files, they were new files.
So I went into the tree structure and removed all the files that were uploaded. But when I go into admin > extensions > modules they still exist. One of them is:
Vertical Accordion Category Menu

The other one is "Price Filter".

So what was modified so that I can't get rid of them? What do I have to do to get rid of them?

Ensure that inside admin/controller/modules/ they are removed

Bingo... That was it. I don't know how I missed them there as I thought I went through the file structure of the zip files and got rid of everything.
