[SOLVED] Multi Store Install Across 2 CPanel Accounts

I currently have Multiple store setup under 2 domains on the same cpanel account and it works fine. My problem is that my host does not provide multi domain ssl certs and say that i have to have 2 different ssl certs. which in turn means i need 2 dedicated ips. they tell me the only way i can achieve this is to move one of the domains to a different cpanel account instead of adding the domain to the main account. this will give them the ability to give me another dedicated ip for that site.

Is it possible to link the 2 sites on 2 different cpanel accounts?

Multi store shouldn't be able to work across two different sites if i'm not wrong. If they are on two separate cpanels, they might be on different servers too

I would say change your hosts. Most can add another dedicated ip (usually at around $1 extra a month) to your current account. I believe ips are assigned to domain names, so if you have 2 domain names on the same account, they should be able to give them 2 different dedicated ips (not a hosting expert here, but i know what my webhost does).

Thanks for the responses. in my case they are on the same server. I just created a new cpanel account for the 2nd domain then copied all the opncart files over to the new home directory, and it worked. Dont like the way i had todo it but my host could not give me a 2nd ip.

if you copied all the opencart files over, then of course it will work, just that you can't run the multi store function perhaps
