Category to manufacturer conversion

Hi,

I am looking to migrate a store from Ubercart to Opencart. I have found a script to do this, but unfortunately it copies the manufacturers over as categories instead which will cause problems. Is there a way to convert categories to manufacturers?

If not I can write something to migrate it but wondered if there's any easy way before I do that.
