Hi, I've seen an ecommerce site allowing to login using Facebook. ("Connect with Facebook" option). Then providing the necessary infos required. How did they do that?

facebook connect is an api you can use for login to any site if it is coded to allow it. I have not seen a mod released by anyone for opencart, though I'm pretty sure I saw one opencart site that had it.

a plugin for opencart would be cool

There is very easy way to do it.
If you want to share a product, just post the next code somewhere you want on PRODUCT.TPL

Code: Select all

<a name="fb_share" type="button" href="http://www.facebook.com/sharer.php">Сподели</a><script src="http://static.ak.fbcdn.net/connect.php/js/FB.Share" type="text/javascript"></script>

well that is just product share, not facebook connect login.

Probably a candidate to be added to the core. Google account authentication would also be worthwhile.

There is also a free one :

http://www.opencart.com/index.php?route ... =leonlinet

It works for me fine so far. Just one problem with Facebook Login - it's deleting already registered users their password.
