Hi,

I'm wondering, is there a pre-order mod?

So, i'm selling DVD, but for example, release date is 15/03/2010

but, i would like my customers to be able to already place the order.

is this possible?

thanks

What do you want from it?

You can set a release date per product.

ok, even in NL

So you want a modification that will show the release date (in the future) and the possibility to order.

This could be done by just making the release date shown on the shop-front. Anything else would mean a lot of coding.

ok,

now i understand

so i create a new order status, for example, Pre-Order

then set the product to stock: Pre-Order

and availeble to release date ?

but, then it does not show the product....

I need them to be able to already order.

The order process will stay the same but you need to adjust your template to display the release-date.

You could create a new Stock Status called "In stock soon" or "In Stock 03/2010". Really it's no different than any other item. Just set the title to the date it will be instock and ship it then

yes, but, when i do that, i have to set stock to "0"

and, then, ok, it shows, pre-order, but you can't order.

HI There:
This is how I have mine setup
1/ in admin go to system / settings. in Settings / Option check stock chckout to "yes"
this will allow items not in stock to be orderd
2/ in admin under system localisation / stock statuses add the avialablie date

when you enter the product product option unrder the Date Available: you then add the date you want

hope this helps

I must be doing something wrong, because I followed the instructions above, and the product I want to have available for pre-order won't even appear on my storefront.

Hi Elmo, thanks for the information.
I've found this forum to be really helpful. I just wondered if you could answer me a quick one.

1) In admin-settings, I've chosen to 'option check stock checkout' to YES
2) I've changed the stock statuses to show like: "Pre-Order - Available Jan" "Pre-Order - Available Feb"...
3) "When you enter the product product option under the Date Available then you add the date you want"...
What does the last option mean?

Much appreciated!
