Copy and immediately edit new product

Perhaps its just me, but the copy product feature seems pretty inconvenient.

When do you usually want to copy a product? When you want to create a new product that is very similar to an existing product.

So all of the steps involved are: click the checkbox, click the Copy button, locate the new product and click Edit, go to the second tab and set the status to Enabled, finally make your changes and save the new product.

There should be a feature that allows you to copy and immediately edit a product. The way it would work is that you click the Copy link for a particular product, you are then taken to a page that is identical to the Insert product page, except that all the fields are copied from the selected product (and perhaps "Copy 1" would be appended to the product name). You can then make your changes and save the new product. So quick!

Is there already an extension for this?

Who agrees this (or something very similar) would be awesome!!

I agree. It would make it much quicker. Also having the basic fields on the first tab would be great
