You believe is important to have a personalized Admin Area?

I believe that we should not forget about the importance of a well made, UNIFIED Brand Identity!

A well made, unified Brand Identity is important because it is the actual BACKBONE, HEART and FACE of any business. It represents the company’s values, services, ideas and personality. It can generate client loyalty, but it also makes the owner and his employees proud to work together under their strong brand identity that represents them.

If you offer a complete, unified design to your clients, you give them and their employees more that a tool to work with, a simple eCommerce website, YOU GIVE THEM AN ACTUAL DREAM to believe in and to build on ... and you know that this happiness of your clients it reflects also on you, $$

In my opinion the only 3 components an eCommerce website truly needs to become that dream for the owner and his employees, are:

1) a lot of useful functionality, in order to give them the flexibility to sell and promote their products in different ways. (THE HEART)

2) a clean, beautiful, well organized and personalized design for the website Front End, so their clients will feel comfortable to buy, and to transform them in loyal clients. (THE FACE)

3) a personalized, fresh, up to date design for the Admin Area, that makes it much more intuitive and simple to use. (THE BACKBONE)

So, what do you believe? It is important to personalize the Admin Area also? ... beside the great work we, the developers, do already with the functionalities and the themes we use to create eCommerce websites on the OpenCart platform.

Hope more developers with new, fresh and innovative Admin Area Themes will appear in the Extensions Area.

To be honest?

It looks horrible, to crowded and an pain to the eye

Sorry, but I have to agree with i2paq.

When only a few people (in my case just me) have access to the admin area, the most important thing to me is that it works the way I want it to, which is why I've changed a lot of the layout to suit the way I work and make it easier for myself. No icons needed when text links work just find and are organized where I can find them. I've regrouped some things to make it easier for me to find and have done a lot of customization to things like the product edit pages to put what I change one the first tab right up top to speed up adding products. Did the same to the order screens.

Branding the front end of your stores I agree is important. Branding the back end (which only a select few - and only those that would work for me - should have access to anyway) is a waste of time and $$ that can be better used to add features for your customers and customize the back end to how you need it to work.

First i would like to thank you for the your time to review vagabondAT and for your opinion regarding the importance of a customized Admin Area.

All this will help me understand how to approach a new version of the Admin Theme, i believe that "the beauty is in the eye of the beholder" and every person with his own needs and perspective as labeshops well exemplified with his website needs.

Regarding the part with “is a waste of time and $$”, with all do respect i do not believe that 5 min. installation time and $10 is a waste , for a new idea and approach.

But i also believe that when you will hear and listen to a lot of opinions you can truly update your product accordingly to the needs.

The vagabondAT project actually started because of the great request from our previous clients for a personalized Admin Area. But i admit the vagabondAT it is at the beginning and this was a release version to see the direction in which we should go and what we need to do to make it a needed tool.
